Trail elves needed for June 21 Trail Day
You’re running on the Baden Powell when you stumble into a group of people moving dirt and rocks, digging trenches, carrying lumber, whistling, and eating muffins and drinking coffee. Are they:
- constructing a tree fort for Habitat for Humanity;
- creating a new section of trail to make the race-day route longer;
- preparing to move a live, 150-year old fir tree three feet to the left;
- a group of Knee Knacker Trail Elves, giving back to the community?
The answer is, of course, moving the tree. (Trees aren’t allowed to grow in the middle of the trail!)
Seriously though, it’s going to be another great Knee Knacker Trail Day on Saturday, June 21. We need 15-20 people to work with the District fo North Vancouver to rehabilitate and improve another stretch of the Baden Powell Trail, east of Hyannis Drive. There will be free coffee and treats from Delany’s Coffee.
No experience necessary, all tools and supplies are provided by the District.
Meeting time: 8:45am
Meeting place: Baden Powell trailhead on Hyannis Drive
Work period: 9am-1pm
To help us plan, please RSVP by Friday, June 20 to trailday@kneeknacker.com
