As the Knee Knacker community’s fundraising efforts approaches – and perhaps exceeds – $13,000, you may be curious about how the North Shore Rescue team will use those precious dollars. The money raised allows the team to install a Multiple Casualty Incident Kit at one of their stations. The Kit will be used to help winter backcountry enthusiasts, like backcountry skiers and snowshoers, in case of an avalanche. In addition, the funds will also help NSR buy a new radio repeater and hut near Cypress. Incidentally, the radio repeater plays a key role in covering the race course.

As you run the Baden Powell Trail on Saturday, it’s comforting to know that North Shore Rescue is working with us to make sure there is help in case it’s needed.
