Jul 14, 2018 – Race day photos from Nathan Starzynski (Mountain Highway)
“2/3 of the way done the course! A huge accomplishment already for making it this far. The expressions on runners faces here were a lot more varied than at the top of Black Mountain. Some coasted along, seeming to be blissfully enjoying the race and their time in the forest, while others battled mental and physical demons while still forging courageously towards the finish line. The snacks, cool water, drinks, and sponge baths were a very welcome treat after the truly knackering traverse along Grouse Mountain. Thanks again to the lovely volunteers for managing this aid station, making sure everyone was still fit for battle with the trail, and cheering them on with only 1 mountain left to go. The most memorable moment was when I was shooting from the bushes, and cheered on a group so loudly and suddenly that they thought I was a Sasquatch.” …Nathan Starzynski, photographer
