Jul 14, 2018 – Race day photos from Privateer Nathan Starzynski on Blackbeard’s Mountain
“Arrrr mateys! Well done to all the landlubbers who toed the line on this race for treasure and conquered the rocks up Blackbeard’s Mountain. Us buccaneering pirate folk would normally make ye walk the plank for plundering our coins, but everyone who made it up was just too friendly and earned their right to loot our water and gold (chocolate). I myself, a privateer tasked with exploring the outer reaches of Blackbeard’s Mountain, sailed up and down the course, yelling Ahoy! to all who came this way, and telling them to set their sails down course and enjoy the quick escape away from these black fly infested waters. Yo-ho, shiver-me-timbers and thanks to Captain Blackbeard and her crew for bringing their treasure to the top of the mountain for you to plunder. You vanquished the top of the course, and continued onward before getting eaten alive. Hope you enjoyed your bottles of brew at the end!” …Privateer Nathan Starzynski, Blackbeard’s Mountain photographer
