Snow Grooming
2017 has been a fantastic ski season. What does mean for the snow conditions along the Baden Powell trail on race day?
“The way things look now, it will be nowhere near 1999 unless there are many more serious storms in next few weeks followed by unseasonable cool weather in May/June. This winter is more like a “normal” winter, in the mountains at least. The city was a different story this year. My guess is there will be patches of snow still on the trail by race, but not really long stretches like in 1999 and even 2000. Disclaimer: I have no training/expertise as a weather forecaster 😉 ” …Enzo Federico, co-founder of the Knee Knacker and race committee member.
If large accumulation of snow persists on race day, snow grooming procedures may be implemented (see photos). 🙂
