“The last 400 meters of trail before the finish area in Panorama Park is  always a favorite area to photograph. The runners sense the finish and even though the legs are tired they know accomplishment is near and the corresponding facial expressions are fun to record.  This is the second  year of steps instead of roots and rocks.  Last year’s rain and wet steps created many falls but this year the challenge was the increased number of  hikers.  Race volunteers were alerting hikers of “Runners Coming!” which helped significantly but still many runners were still left to dodge the hordes of  hikers.” …Ron Nicholl, 18 times Knee Knacker finisher

Ron ran the first quarter of the course but unfortunately had to stop at Cypress.  Ron continued his race day experience photographing his fellow Kneeknackerers as they ran the final 400 metres to the Finish line and around Panorama Park:
