A few interesting stats
In case you needed convincing/reminding that the 2012 edition of the Knee Knacker was indeed a challenge, here are some stats/observations to substantiate that claim:
- 212 starters is a record, beating previous high of 209 in 2007
- 189 finishers
- 89.2% finish rate is 2nd lowest ever; lowest is 86.4% in 1991, and this is only the 2nd time ever below 90%
- 92 first-time finishers out of the 189 – almost half, which is about par for the course
- only 20 Personal Bests, which is much below normal
- median time was 7:44:46, which is 2nd slowest ever – only beaten by 7:47:00 in 1999 (year of the biggest, baddest snow)
- no records set in any of the age groups
